Sophomore Marcus Yandall, a stand out player for the EC men’s lacrosse team this season, earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week award.
The athlete received the recognition after shining in Bluejay victories over Albion College on April 4, and Carroll University on April 6.
In the game against Albion, Yandall scored five goals and had four assists in the 24-12 win. He scored five goals and totaled four assistants again later in the week against Carroll University. The Jays shut out Carroll University 24-0.
“I think I have improved significantly in terms of having confidence with my shooting,” said Yandall. “I’ve always had more of a pass-first mentality, but this year I have raised my number of goals scored.”
Into the next week, Yandall stayed on a hot streak with five goals and one assist in the team’s 24-1 win over the University of Dubuque.
Yandall was awarded CCIW second-team all-conference in 2018 as a freshman. This season, he ranks second on the team with 28 goals, leads the team with 26 assists, and ranks second in points with 54.
The men’s lacrosse team will host Carthage College on Wednesday, April 24 for a CCIW match up.
